Job summary

Medison Pharma is seeking a Country Medical Head for Poland to oversee all medical activities for products in the country. You will provide expert medical support to marketing teams, guide MAMS/MSLs, and coordinate with regulatory and payer bodies.

You will build yearly medical roadmaps and budgets, supervise medical affairs staff, foster relationships with KOLs and healthcare providers, and ensure compliant, evidence-based communications across internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • MD/PhD in life sciences, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or pharmacy.
  • 8–10 years of pharma medical/commercial experience.
  • Experience with Rare Diseases or Vaccines and KOL networks in Poland.
  • Experience with product launches.
  • Strong scientific and medical affairs knowledge.
  • Excellent communication to diverse audiences.

Overview

The Country Medical Head is the most senior medical representative in the country operation, with strategic and operational accountability for the function. The role manages all medical activities for the products under responsibility in Poland, provides expert medical support including education to marketing teams, hires and leads Medical Affairs Managers (MAMs) and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) when applicable. The position reports to the Cluster Medical Head, partners with the Country Manager, and is an active member of the Country Leadership Team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical expertise to the therapeutic areas under responsibility, including continuous updates on medical developments.
  • Deliver clinical updates and pass knowledge to medical and commercial teams.
  • Lead and develop MAMS and/or MSL teams, overseeing hiring, engagement, and professional development.
  • Analyze scientific material, key journals, and prepare lectures and presentations.
  • Meet with Medison’s suppliers as necessary.
  • Guide medical teams on all marketed products.
  • Participate in conferences and symposia locally and at headquarters.
  • Establish and develop strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare physicians.
  • Build professional relationships with other health‑care stakeholders.
  • Provide medical education through presentations at office visits, meetings, and other venues.
  • Resolve medical queries promptly and thoroughly.
  • Develop yearly operational roadmaps and annual medical budgets in collaboration with medical managers and the marketing department.
  • Create medical brand plans and support business initiatives.
  • Provide technological support related to reimbursement and collaborate with the regulatory division.
  • Cooperate with marketing, market‑access, and regulatory teams while maintaining autonomy.
  • Oversee compassionate programs and clinical research within assigned country or countries.
  • Coordinate reimbursement processes with the health basket.
  • Review and approve promotional materials before print.
  • Report safety information, including adverse events, to Pharmacovigilance per company policies.
  • Respond to investigator-initiated clinical trial requests when appropriate.
  • Work with the clinical team to coordinate site visits with investigators.
  • Adhere to the code of ethics and regulatory guidelines regarding suppliers.
  • Model the company’s culture and values, maintaining respect for partners and compliance requirements.
Requirements
  • Doctorate MD/PhD in Life Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, or Pharmacy – required.
  • 8‑10 years of experience in pharma in a medical or commercial role, preferably in a startup environment.
  • Experience in Rare Diseases or Vaccines and solid contacts with top KOLs in Poland.
  • Experience with product launches.
  • Strong scientific, clinical, and medical‑affairs knowledge.
  • Experience discussing on‑ and off‑label clinical and scientific concepts.
  • Data‑driven decision making to enhance customer experience.
  • Experience working with diverse healthcare stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of the local healthcare environment.
  • Ability to communicate scientific and medical information to internal and external audiences.
  • Good pedagogical skills.
  • Highly collaborative and team‑spirited.
