Job summary

PWMG is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to support on-site execution of mechanical works at power, petrochemical, or industrial projects. You will ensure adherence to design, safety, and technical specs, coordinating with engineering, planning, and HSE teams.

Responsibilities include supervising piping, rotating equipment, QA/QC, documenting ITPs and handovers, managing contractor activities, and supporting testing, commissioning, and turn-over packages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3–10+ years of experience in mechanical construction for power plants, oil & gas, industrial plants, or energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, rotating machinery, pressure equipment, and mechanical installation standards.
  • Experience working within EPC project environments and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes, welding, NDT, and mechanical testing.
  • Good command of English (project language).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise installation of mechanical systems including piping, rotating equipment, static equipment, HRSG components, cooling systems, fuel gas systems, and auxiliary plant equipment.
  • Verify that all works follow approved drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, method statements, and technical specifications.
  • Monitor alignment, tolerances, welding, supports, and mechanical fit-up of equipment.
  • Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors and ensure smooth workflow and resource availability.
  • Participate in daily/weekly coordination meetings with civil, electrical, commissioning, and engineering teams.
  • Identify site issues and propose practical engineering solutions.
  • Conduct inspections, punch lists, and mechanical walk-downs for system handover.
  • Ensure all mechanical works follow QA/QC standards, welding procedures (WPS/PQR), and material specifications.
  • Review and approve ITPs, inspection reports, as-built drawings, and mechanical documentation.
  • Enforce project-specific HSE standards.
  • Support risk assessments, RAMS, and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure safe execution of lifting, rigging, pressure testing, and commissioning-related mechanical activities.
  • Participate in testing: hydrostatic tests, pneumatic tests, flushing, cleaning, leak tests, rotation tests, etc.
  • Support commissioning team during pre-commissioning and start-up of mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation of system turnover packages (TOPs).
  • Track mechanical progress against schedule and report deviations.
  • Maintain logs for installation progress, inspections, materials, and equipment status.
  • Support change requests, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
