Job summary

Arup in Amsterdam or Poland is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to multidisciplinary Building Services projects. You will be involved from feasibility to completion across sectors such as healthcare, education, offices and data centres, delivering sustainable design aligned with zero-carbon goals.

You will work alongside architects, civil and electrical engineers, leveraging BIM, Revit and CAD tooling, and supporting digital transformation through automation and integrated design

Qualifications

• Degree from an engineering university in building/mechanical/energy or a relevant technical diploma.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in mechanical services design and delivery.
• Experience with mechanical building services design for large-scale projects, including calculations and reporting.

The Opportunity

The Building Services (MEP) team has been growing consistently in the last 3 years, working on iconic buildings in Europe, on a diverse range of projects including Stadia, Luxury Hotels, Offices, Commercial, Healthcare, Science and Industry and Educational projects. The role offers excellent prospects for career development and the opportunity to be involved in different and challenging range of design projects. As Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in our Building Services Engineering team, contributing to multidisciplinary projects.

As a Mechanical Engineer At Arup, You Will

• Contribute to all stages of projects—from feasibility to completion—across sectors such as advanced manufacturing, healthcare, education, energy, sport, commercial, and mixed-use developments
• Help clients progress toward zero carbon goals through innovative and sustainable design.
• Support Arup’s digital transformation by exploring automation and integrated digital design solutions.

Qualifications

We're looking for a Dynamic and Proactive candidate that has a great interest in teamwork and in developing their career in the MEP field. These are the essential skills and qualifications for the position:

• Degree from an Engineering University (Building /Mechanical /Energy/ other relevant) or a relevant technical Diploma.
• 2-5 years of professional experience into the design and delivery of mechanical services.
• Experience in Mechanical Building Services design for medium to large-scale projects, including calculations and report writing.

We Also Value

• Knowledge of low or zero carbon technologies.
• BIM environments proficiency, particularly using Revit, and has experience with CAD
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Interest in sustainability
