Job summary

NordHR is assisting a leading marine engineering and ship design company in recruiting a Systems Engineer. You will oversee design processes across structural, mechanical, electrical, automation, radio-navigation, onboard equipment, interiors, and stability, ensuring compliance with client requirements and regulations.

Qualifications

• Higher technical education in shipbuilding, marine engineering, or mechanics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ship/offshore systems projects.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAE tools and MS Project.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.
• Independence in making design and technical decisions.
• Up-to-date knowledge and willingness to learn beyond the scope.
• English at B2 level (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Designing and supervising structural, mechanical, electrical, automation, radio-navigation systems, onboard equipment, and interiors of vessels to ensure compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards.
• Creating design solutions addressing complex problems by integrating multiple engineering disciplines.
• Solving interdisciplinary engineering problems, assessing risks, and optimizing for cost, safety, and compliance.
• Performing and verifying design calculations: class, mass, power and heat balances, stability and structural analyses.
• Developing functional descriptions of systems, creating lists/documents/reports, and supervising 3D models of floating units.
• Preparing test plans (FAT, HAT, SAT).
