Job summary

We are seeking an Accounting Service Manager, Poland, to lead the Polish accounting operations for Nowa Era and Vulcan from our Warsaw base. You will report to the Global Head of Accounting Services and collaborate within Sanoma Learning’s Finance organization in Poland.

The role emphasizes statutory and IFRS reporting, tax compliance, and strong internal controls, with travel within Europe as needed. Fluency in English and Polish is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in finance or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, local GAAP, IFRS, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial controls, and finance systems (SAP, HFM).
• Experience working in an international environment and collaborating with shared service centres and/or BPO operations.

Responsibilities

• Leading the Polish accounting team, ensuring stable finance operations, high performance, and compliance with local regulations, Group policies, and guidelines.
• Driving the implementation of Group processes and systems within the region, fostering continuous improvement, increasing automation, and reducing process inefficiencies and manual work.
• Ensuring accurate and timely statutory, tax, and IFRS reporting and compliance for all legal entities within scope.
• Managing statutory compliance, including the preparation and timely filing of local financial statements and other statutory requirements.
• Ensuring accurate and timely VAT, WHT, CIT, and other tax filings in line with local regulatory requirements.
• Delivering accurate and timely monthly Group reporting (IFRS), using financial data and insights to support effective decision-making.
• Managing external and internal audits, including tax audits, and ensuring successful audit outcomes.
• Overseeing the Author Royalty calculation and payment process, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.
• Building strong partnerships with local business stakeholders by providing expert accounting and tax advice and supporting business objectives through sound financial guidance.
• Ensuring effective internal controls are implemented, monitored, and continuously improved to support compliance, risk management, and operational excellence.

We are now looking for an Accounting Service Manager, Poland to lead the accounting services for our Polish entities: Nowa Era and Vulcan. This position will be based in Warsaw, Poland. You will report to the Global Head of Accounting Services while being an integral part of the Finance organization in Poland.

The department
The Accounting Services team is an integral part of Sanoma Group Finance Control and provides accounting services to Sanoma’s Learning operations. Your main responsibilities will include

You need the following qualifications to succeed in this role

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of leadership experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, local GAAP, IFRS, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial controls, and finance systems (SAP, HFM).
• Experience working in an international environment and collaborating with shared service centres and/or BPO operations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to build high-performing teams, develop people, and create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across functions and organizational levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex situations and translate financial information into business insights.

The role occasionally requires travel within Europe.
