Job description

Rayner is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to be responsible for producing management accounts, budgets, cash flows, profit and loss and balance sheet for several trading (and non-trading) entities within the Rayner group focusing on Poland and the surrounding region.

Reporting into the Head of Finance Europe, this is an excellent opportunity to lead projects in our Polish entity and surrounding regions, and take on a variety of tasks in this senior position.

What You\'ll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements for the Polish entity.
  • Analyse variances against budget and prior year, providing actionable insights to local and regional leadership.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decisions and project evaluations.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the Polish subsidiary, collaborating with local business heads.
  • Contribute to rolling forecasts and group-wide financial planning cycles.
Compliance & Controls
  • Ensure full compliance with Polish statutory requirements including VAT, payroll, and corporate tax filings.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to support audits and regulatory submissions.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and propose process improvements to enhance financial governance.
Cash & Treasury Management
  • Oversee local bank reconciliations and payment runs, optimizing cash flow while adhering to payment terms.
  • Support group-wide weekly cash forecasting and liquidity planning.
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Continuously review and enhance financial processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the primary finance contact for the Polish subsidiary, engaging with local teams, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Europe to support business initiatives and resolve queries.
Team Leadership
  • Lead and develop junior finance staff (if applicable), fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and recognition to ensure team engagement and growth.
What Experience & Skills You Will Need

Essential

  • Newly qualified accountant or candidate in final stages (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Previous and proven management accounts experience essential
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, or similar).
  • Accurate and attention to detail
  • Keen and hardworking
  • Self-starter but able to contribute to the wider finance team’s objectives

Desirable

  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting desirable
  • Experience in manufacturing or healthcare sectors.
  • Exposure to international tax and transfer pricing.
  • Familiarity with digital finance tools and automation.
