Job summary

HSBC is seeking a skilled mainframe network support specialist to join a team maintaining a large-scale z/OS system platform. You will configure and maintain security and data integrity for mainframe host communications subsystems, with involvement in a 24x7 support rota.

You will handle VTAM, IPsec/TLS, and file transmission tooling, collaborating with application and operations teams to ensure reliable connectivity and security across IBM mainframe networks.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience supporting the z/OS mainframe network environment and general z/OS systems programming.
• Knowledge of z/OS and z/OS utilities.
• Understanding of z/OS networking services structure related software and protocols.
• Experience administering file transmission products such as Connect:Direct and FTP or strong experience as a user of these products.
• Understanding of network security disciplines including IPSec TLS and SSL and certificates and how they relate to file transmission.
• Experience in problem management from initial diagnosis through to resolution.
• Understanding of the Change Management process.
• Knowledge of mainframe network management tools such as NetMaster and multi-session manager products such as TUBES and Supersession.

Responsibilities

• Support IBM mainframe networks and transmissions products and infrastructure as part of a multi-functional team.
• Participate in a support rota providing 24x7 cover.
• Perform TCPIP port reserves additions deletions and changes and complete VTAM updates additions deletions and changes.
• Manage OSA adapters in a complex mainframe environment including OSA-Express network cards.
• Perform VTAM PU and LU updates additions deletions and changes including Enterprise Extenders EE.
• Implement AT-TLS rules including digital certificate management and configure IPSEC policies such as permit and deny rules and VPN ipsec tunnels.
• Carry out trace debug and error analysis and manage problems from initial diagnosis through to resolution
• Communicate with technical applications and operational teams to ensure network connectivity and security including some after hours and weekend work.

What we offer

The pay range for this role is 16 658 PLN – 24 983 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
