Job description
Overview

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

The Logistics Manager will act as the main point of contact for logistic, supply and transportation requirements for the CLS Poland and satellite CLS team. The selected candidate must be forward thinking, possess extensive logistic and supply experience, transportation and cargo shipment experience, be adaptable to change and willing to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with multiple government, host nation and foreign national partners. The position will perform additional duties as required.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

  • Maintain and develop positive business relationships with personnel involved in or directly relevant to a logistics activity.
  • Practices good housekeeping, property accountability control, Foreign Object Damage prevention and safety at all times.
  • Facilitates the shipment and transportation of supplies and logistics as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
  • Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.
  • Receives guidance and direction as necessary from the Program Manager with regards to policies, directives and professional development.
  • Performs all logistic and supply support for the CLS Poland effort.
  • Plan, organize and execute logistics support activities such as facilitate maintenance planning, supply ordering and life support, as required.
  • Stay informed of logistics technology advances and apply appropriate technology to improve logistics processes.
  • Develop and implement technical project management tools such as plans, schedules and compliance matrices.
  • Disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all federal and host nation environmental standards and regulations.
Material & Equipment Directly Used
  • Extensive use of basic shop equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, forklifts, power tools, and lifting devices. Steel toe shoes are required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas while work is being conducted. Such PPE includes, but is not limited to: face mask (covering nose and mouth), head, foot, hand, vision and hearing protective devices, and breathing apparatus.
  • Frequent use of computer systems and multi-function devices.
Working Environment

Physical Activities:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education / Certifications

  • At least six (6) years' experience in the logistics and supply.
  • Proven excellent communication writing skills, to keep records of discussions, decisions, and agreements.
  • Must possess expertise in Microsoft office and capable of generating electronic reports and conducting data mining and business analysis.
  • Must possess the ability to understand operating procedures, work Instructions, military regulations, military and commercial technical manuals, and applicable Department of Defense forms.
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with subordinates, peers and senior personnel and proficient in MS Office.
  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Capacity to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
