Job summary

Aon is seeking a Legal Advisor to join the Warsaw- and Krakow-based Aon Law team, supporting on English law governed commercial contracts for the UK and possibly other jurisdictions. The role can be performed from Warsaw or Krakow offices.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience as in-house counsel or a reputable firm, fluent English, and strong drafting and negotiation skills in an international context.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of in-house counsel experience in a multinational organisation or as an associate in a reputable law firm.
• Fluent English.
• Hands-on experience with UK, US or other common law jurisdiction commercial contracts, providing commercial legal advice, drafting and negotiating in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good judgment.
• Experience with financial services or consulting sector, including insurance regulations, is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and negotiating contracts for Aon entities in the UK in a domestic and international context across Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses.
• Working with the business on client-related issues, including tenders, cross-border contracting structures and template rationalization.
• Providing legal advice on a range of contractual matters, including complex client consulting and brokerage contracting and privacy terms.
• Collaborating with the Aon Law team, business units and support functions (Compliance, Data Privacy) to manage legal risk.
• Proactively identifying risks and raising matters for escalation.
• Updating precedents, playbooks, conducting research, and arranging training.

What The Day Will Look Like

• Reviewing and negotiating contracts for Aon entities in the UK in a domestic and international context across Aon’s Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses.
• Working with the business on a range of client related issues such as tenders, cross border contracting structures and template rationalization.
• Providing legal advice and support to business colleagues on a range of contractual matters, including complex client consulting and brokerage contracting, and privacy terms.
• Working together with the Aon Law team, business units, and other support functions (Compliance, Data Privacy, etc.) based in the UK to ensure legal risk is managed appropriately.
• Proactively engaging with management to identify risks and matters requiring escalation.
• Support team infrastructure such as updating precedents and playbooks, undertaking research, and arranging, delivering, and attending training.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

• Ability to create and deliver practical solutions that appropriately balance commercial objectives and legal risks, including incorporating the responsible use of AI.
• Ability to independently manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
• Prior relevant experience in the financial services or consulting sector, including with respect to insurance regulations and laws, is an asset.
