Job summary

Aon Corporation's Law team in Poland is seeking a Legal Advisor to support English law governed commercial contracts for the UK and other jurisdictions. The role can be performed from Warsaw or Krakow offices and involves negotiating and drafting cross-border agreements within Aon's Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses.

You'll bring a minimum of five years' in-house or equivalent private practice experience, be fluent in English, and able to work independently as well as in a team.

• Minimum of five years working experience as an in-house counsel in a multinational organisation or as an associate in a reputable law firm.
• Fluent English, strong drafting and negotiation skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and negotiating contracts for UK and international contexts related to Aon's Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses.
• Collaborating with business units on tenders, cross-border contracting structures and template rationalization.
• Providing legal advice on contractual matters, including client consulting, brokerage contracting, and privacy terms.
• Working with the Aon Law team and other support functions (Compliance, Data Privacy) to manage legal risk.
• Engaging with management to identify risks and escalation needs.
• Updating precedents and playbooks, conducting research, and arranging training.

Legal Advisor

Legal Advisor will work as part of the Warsaw- and Krakow-based Aon Law team, providing support on a range of primarily English law governed commercial contracts that facilitate Aon's Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses in the UK and possibly other jurisdictions.

This role may be performed from our offices in Warsaw or Krakow.

What the day will look like

• Reviewing and negotiating contracts for Aon entities in the UK in a domestic and international context across Aon's Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses.
• Working with the business on a range of client related issues such as tenders, cross border contracting structures and template rationalization.
• Providing legal advice and support to business colleagues on a range of contractual matters, including complex client consulting and brokerage contracting, and privacy terms.
• Working together with the Aon Law team, business units, and other support functions (Compliance, Data Privacy, etc.) based in the UK to ensure legal risk is managed appropriately.
• Proactively engaging with management to identify risks and matters requiring escalation.
• Support team infrastructure such as updating precedents and playbooks, undertaking research, and arranging, delivering, and attending training.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

A minimum of five years working experience as an in-house counsel in a multinational organisation or an associate in a reputable law firm.

• Fluent English.
• Hands-on experience with UK, US or other common law jurisdiction commercial contracts, providing commercial legal advice, drafting and negotiating in the English language.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, escalating concerns appropriately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• High level of self-direction and demonstrated good judgment.
• Ability to create and deliver practical solutions that appropriately balance commercial objectives and legal risks, including incorporating the responsible use of AI.
• Ability to independently manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
• Prior relevant experience in the financial services or consulting sector, including with respect to insurance regulations and laws, is an asset.
