Job summary

Euroclear Kraków is seeking a Senior Java Tech Lead to drive a migration to an event-based, service-oriented architecture. You will lead a cross-functional team, deliver end-to-end IT solutions, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes.

You will mentor engineers, participate in Agile delivery, and have opportunities for line management. The role demands strong design, performance tuning, and the ability to work in a hybrid environment

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Core Java and Spring Boot development.
• Experience leading teams and delivering end-to-end IT solutions.
• Hands-on development of Java services/microservices.

Job Description

Division: Group Business Solutions (GBS) Euroclear UK and International (EUI) is embarking on an exciting multi-year business transformation programme, with technology change at its heart. Group Business Solutions (GBS) is the Euroclear entity that provides technology delivery services to EUI and is currently in the early stages of delivering a modern, Java microservice-based implementation to replace the existing platform. The new platform will utilise Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes, under the management of the OpenShift container platform and will adhere to the strategy of developing “cloud-ready” microservices, suitable for a potential future migration to the public cloud.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the creation of a new team of IT professionals and providing technical leadership
• Leading delivery of a coherent end-to-end IT solution that meets both functional and non-functional requirements
• Working as part of an Agile development team to deliver the migration of the legacy application to a new event-based and service-oriented architecture solution, working in collaboration with the Solution Architect, Engineering Lead and other stakeholders
• Ensuring that the IT solution complies with the Enterprise engineering and architecture standards.
• Ensuring end-to-end consistency of solution delivery across platforms and teams by, for instance, organising walkthroughs of the solution with delivery teams.
• Ensuring the solution meets guidelines and standards for design and development
• Undertaking hands-on development and providing technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to your team members
• Potential for line management

Qualifications

Crucial Candidate Traits: The successful candidate will have previously performed a technical lead role and have strong demonstrable solutions design and development skills.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Core Java development and common frameworks such as Spring Boot
• Experience of line management
• Developing services/micro-services in Java
• Event driven architecture and messaging technologies (Kafka, MQ…)
• Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes …)
• Object-Oriented design
• Developing and deploying on Unix or Linux
• Profiling and performance tuning
• Testing tools and frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, etc.)
• Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, etc.)

Our technical teams deliver new IT solutions and improve existing applications for both our internal and external clients. We deploy changes into the production environment in a controlled and structured way that doesn't compromise production stability and we ensure applicative production support.
