Position Overview

Lead IT Expert – DataOps (Tech Lead) at Roche Digital Technology (RDT) Data Platforms. Responsible for architecting and evolving the DataOps.Roche platform, driving platform strategy and integration with enterprise data tools. Operate within a decentralized Data Mesh and regulated GxP environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical roadmap for the DataOps.Roche platform.
• Refactor current GitLab CI solutions into an orchestrator‑agnostic Python framework.
• Establish a centralized data modeling service across the ecosystem.
• Manage and maintain Terraform‑based infrastructure provisioning GitLab/GitHub groups, HashiCorp Vault engines, and runners.
• Maintain automated validation and custom autovalidate processes to ensure regulated releases.
• Act as product owner for the platform, liaising with decentralized data product teams to address DevEx bottlenecks.
• Guide senior leadership on platform strategy, tooling evaluation, and infrastructure investments.
• Lead migration initiatives, including GitLab to GitHub transition and evaluation of Dagster orchestration.
• Identify and integrate applied AI into the DataOps lifecycle to improve developer productivity.
• Architect observability and monitoring solutions (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) for platform health.

Required Qualifications

• MSc/BSc in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience as Tech Lead, Platform Engineer, or Infrastructure Architect.
• Deep expertise in Python for orchestrator‑agnostic automation frameworks.
• Extensive experience with Terraform and infrastructure‑as‑code at enterprise scale.
• Strong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD and GitHub Actions, with proven ability to migrate between platforms.
• Experience managing multi‑tenant environments and treating internal platforms as consumer‑facing products.
• Operating within regulated / validated (GxP) environments preferred.
• Knowledge of data platforms (Snowflake), catalog (Collibra), observability (Monte Carlo), secrets management (HashiCorp Vault), and ETL (Talend).
• Familiarity with monitoring stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) and data orchestrators (Airflow, Dagster).
• Strong architectural vision and ability to mentor junior engineers.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: 228,900PLN – 425,100PLN gross per year.
