Job summary

Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG in Wroclaw is seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer to guide the frontend domain through a major transformation from a SAP Commerce storefront to a composable architecture, while shaping architecture and standards.

You will mentor engineers, drive reusable components, ensure CMS/API integration, and collaborate with PO, architects, UX/UI, QA, DevOps and external partners to deliver scalable, high-quality frontend solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of frontend experience, preferably in eCommerce.
• Fluent English (B2) in speech and writing.
• Experience leading frontend engineers and making technical decisions.
• Experience with composable/headless architectures and CMS integration.
• Proficient with modern frontend technologies (React/Angular/Vue).

Responsibilities

• Lead the frontend domain during the transition from a monolithic SAP Commerce storefront to a composable architecture.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to frontend engineers, promoting code quality and learning.
• Define frontend architecture, design principles and implementation standards.
• Develop scalable, reusable frontend components and features.
• Ensure robust frontend integration with CMS, APIs and backend services.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, UX/UI, QA, DevOps and external partners.
• Translate business and UX requirements into frontend designs and guidance.
• Establish frontend best practices for performance, accessibility, SEO, and security.
• Support the partner during transformation while building internal knowledge.
• Lead technical decisions, document architecture and ensure knowledge transfer.
• Guide estimation, planning, dependency management, and delivery tracking.
• Support testing and release readiness with appropriate test approaches.
• Contribute to production rollout readiness and operational readiness for frontend topics.
• Ensure the internal team can take over ownership post-handover.
• Use Jira/Confluence for delivery management and documentation.
