Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ, USA, seeks a Lead Clinical Data Manager to lead end-to-end data management for trials and standards initiatives. You will design, validate, and maintain DM processes, supervise junior staff, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables in line with SOPs and ICH-GCP.

You will drive tool specs (eCRFs, DRPs), coordinate UAT, ensure data integrity, and support global initiatives with strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Health Care, or related discipline with at least 3 years of professional experience in clinical data management; or
• Associate degree with at least 5 years of professional experience in clinical data management; or
• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of professional experience in clinical data management.

Responsibilities

• Lead protocol-level start-up, in-life, and database lock activities for assigned studies.
• Design, validate, review, and maintain data management tool specs (eCRFs, time & events, edit checks, DRPs).
• Coordinate and/or participate in UAT for data management tools.
• Review data integrity, perform reconciliations, manage query generation, tracking, and resolution.
• Coordinate database lock prep, monitor data flow, derivations, and issue triage.
• Support investigator meetings materials and respond to data management questions.
• Present data management guidance at investigator meetings when required.
• Monitor adherence to metrics, quality indicators, and control plans at study level.
