Job summary

Omilia is seeking an ASR Engineer to own end-to-end ASR tuning, model development, testing, deployment, and live performance for enterprise IVR and voice-channel deployments. You will drive improvements, coordinate with Product and Support teams, and manage production-ready solutions across multiple regions.

The role emphasizes ownership, strong Kaldi experience, and a track record of delivering reliable, scalable ASR systems with excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on ASR/speech engineering experience in production/live IVR deployments
• Strong experience with Kaldi or equivalent for language/acoustic modeling and decoding
• Proficient programming in Python; Bash/Java/C++ also acceptable in Linux environments
• Academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Linguistics, or equivalent
• Excellent spoken and written English and stakeholder communication skills

Responsibilities

• Tune ASR grammars, acoustic and language models for new locales and vocabularies
• Investigate production ASR issues and drive rapid resolution
• Manage technical relationships with enterprise accounts as the primary ASR delivery contact
• Deliver measurable WER/SER improvements through model design and fine-tuning
• Develop and scale delivery automation pipelines to speed up releases
• Monitor live ASR performance across global deployment regions
• Document tuning decisions, model versions, and configuration changes
