Job summary

Billennium is seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer/Tech Lead to define a long-term Android strategy, establish architectural standards, and drive CI/CD modernization in a banking-focused environment.

You will mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and advocate for AI-assisted development practices while ensuring security and compliance with OWASP Mobile guidance.

Qualifications

• Senior Android Developer with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose expertise.
• 2–3 years in a Tech Lead/Architect role or similar leadership position.
• Experience designing and standardizing mobile architectures (Clean Architecture, MVVM/MVI).
• Experience transforming and scaling CI/CD pipelines for large teams (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, Fastlane, Gradle).
• Knowledge of mobile security including SCA, reverse engineering protection, and OWASP Mobile.

Our client operates in the banking sector and is focused on the long-term evolution of its Android platform. The initiative aims to establish consistent engineering standards, strengthen CI/CD and mobile security, and expand the use of AI across the software development lifecycle.

What You Will Do

• Define and execute a 3–5-year technical strategy for the Android platform.
• Set, maintain, and enforce architecture, engineering, and code-quality standards across the Android ecosystem.
• Provide technical leadership for the Android platform, ensuring architectural consistency and quality while balancing standards with the pressure for rapid delivery.
• Mentor engineers, facilitate knowledge sharing, and develop technical capabilities across engineering teams.
• Optimize existing CI/CD pipelines or design scalable CI/CD processes from the ground up to support large development teams.
• Introduce and promote AI-powered engineering practices, including GitHub Copilot and LLM-based solutions supporting activities such as Code Review.
• Drive mobile application security practices, including third-party library vulnerability management, Software Composition Analysis (SCA), protection against reverse engineering, and alignment with OWASP Mobile guidance.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Senior Android Developer with strong expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Gradle / Gradle Kotlin DSL.
• At least 2–3 years of experience as an Android Tech Lead, Architect, or in a comparable technical leadership role.
• Hands-on experience designing and standardizing mobile application architectures, including Clean Architecture, MVVM/MVI, and multi-module architecture.
• Proven experience transforming and scaling CI/CD pipelines for large development teams, with practical knowledge of GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, Fastlane, and Gradle.
• Practical knowledge of mobile application security, including reverse engineering protection, vulnerability management, Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and OWASP Mobile.
• Experience automating code-quality controls using tools such as SonarQube and detekt.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to plan the evolution of an engineering platform over a multi-year horizon rather than focusing solely on individual features.
• Experience mentoring engineers, developing technical competencies, promoting knowledge sharing, and assertively maintaining engineering standards.
• Willingness to work from the office at least one day per month in Warsaw, Kraków, or Katowice. Nice-to-have
