Job summary

Vestas Blades Layup Tooling team is seeking a Tooling Engineer to define tool requirements for lay-up processes. You will design and optimize lay-up tools, participate in TPM, and support maintenance strategies across sites.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, problem-solving with structured methods, and collaboration with suppliers in a global manufacturing context. English fluency is required; travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years of experience in similar roles.
• Knowledge and experience with Six Sigma or Lean.
• Fluent English; Polish language will be valuable.
• Willingness to travel to support technology launches across sites.
• Ability to develop/define tool functions for blade lay-up equipment.
• Data-driven decision making.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational discipline.
• Able to work across cultures and time zones with stakeholders.
• Customer-oriented with view of end-to-end value chain.
• Willing to spend time in factory to understand and solve problems.

Responsibilities

Vestas Blades Process Engineering establish a high-performing engineering organization capable of setting new industry benchmarks in manufacturing excellence. the main purpose of the organization is optimize existing blade manufacturing processes and develop robust, standardized and capable processes for new blade designs and to deliver consistent, high-quality engineering support across all manufacturing sites.The Lay-up Blades Tooling department is responsible for tooling development, requirements and specifications. The function will also support the supplier management and development. Service and maintenance strategy, is also within their scope together with OOE and TPM.

Responsibilities

• As a Tooling Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in defining the requirements and specifications for tools used in the Lay-up process, in the blades building process. If you do not have a deep knowledge within composite materials, you will have a high motivation to get it. Your main responsibilities:
• Design, and optimizing tools for the lay-up processes
• Tool development and delivery (TPM)
• Service and maintenance strategy including EAM
• Investigating and solving production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA
• Applying continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Lean, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality
• Support on Supplier management and CAPEX Budget

Qualifications

• Fluent English, Polish language will be valuable
• Willingness to travel to support technology launches and resolving technical problems across sites
• Ability to develop and or specify the functions of tools for handling the blade parts connected to lay- up process, including equipment for quality control and online process measurements
