Job summary

University of Gdańsk, Faculty of Chemistry is seeking a Junior Researcher/Scientific Assistant for the Horizon Europe project. You will design, synthesize and analyze peptides for covalent attachment to polymeric foils and trays, purify the compounds, and fully characterize them.

You will also optimize attachment and release conditions on surfaces. The role requires Master’s degree or equivalent, strength in peptide chemistry and biochemistry, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in chemistry or related field.
• Experience in peptide chemistry and biochemistry.
• Experience in synthesis and analysis of peptides and peptidomimetics.
• Familiarity with HPLC and mass spectrometry.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, good English.
• Proficiency with basic software tools (MS Office, ChemDraw, ChemBioDraw, Origin).

Responsibilities

• Design, synthesize and analyze peptides for covalent attachment to surfaces.
• Modify compounds with reactive groups and purify final products.
• Characterize compounds fully and confirm sequences.
• Optimize conditions for attachment to polymeric surfaces and controlled release.
• Collaborate with team and participate in project meetings.
