About the Role

As a Data Analyst at Plum Research, you’ll play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights for some of the biggest players in the global media industry. You will apply your technical expertise in Python and SQL, statistical acumen, and analytical rigor to explore, clean, model, and interpret large-scale datasets—especially survey and audience data from streaming platforms, broadcasters, and studios.

This is a hybrid technical and client-facing role: you’ll also support client communications, deliver data-driven presentations, and solve ad-hoc analytical challenges as part of our agile, high-performing team. Plum Research is a pioneering data and analytics company at the forefront of audience measurement in the media and entertainment industries. Your Responsibilities
  • Analyze complex datasets using Python and SQL to uncover key insights about audience behavior,

  • Design and execute statistical models for survey data interpretation and validation,

  • Prepare and present compelling data summaries and visualizations for internal and client stakeholders,

  • Maintain and improve data quality across multiple pipelines and projects,

  • Support client teams by responding to analytical questions and delivering fast, reliable solutions,

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine products and improve research accuracy.

Must-Have Skills
  • Python programming for data transformation, modeling, and analysis,

  • Advanced SQL for querying, transforming, and integrating large datasets,

  • Solid understanding of statistical techniques and data interpretation,

  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for data integrity,

  • Experience working with survey data and understanding data collection limitations,

  • Excellent communication skills – especially in creating presentations and explaining analytical findings.

Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with the TV, streaming, or film industry,

  • Experience with BI tools or visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI),

  • Knowledge of panel data or audience measurement systems.
