Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Junior Cost Manager to support cost planning, budgeting, and tender documentation in Warsaw and Wroclaw. You will help prepare estimates, validate bills, and assist with cost analyses under senior supervision.

The role requires basic cost management experience, strong Excel skills, and fluency in Polish and English. This is an on-site position offering a structured development path within a global design and consultancy leader.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Degree in building construction, civil engineering, or quantity surveying.
  • 1–2 years in cost management or related field (internship/graduate ok).
  • Fluent Polish and English, both written and spoken.

With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.JUNIOR COST MANAGERLocation: Warsaw, WrocławRole accountabilities:Support the preparation of initial budget estimates and cost plans.Assist in updating cost plans throughout design development.Support the preparation of bills of quantities, pricing documents and tender documentation.Assist with tender analysis and the preparation of tender reports.Support monthly valuations, variation assessment and change management processes.Assist with final account reconciliation.Contribute to value engineering and cost optimisation exercises.Prepare and support the development of cost analyses, benchmarking studies and project cost reports.Support effective communication with clients, consultants, designers and other project stakeholders.Participate in client, design team and site meetings.Develop understanding of the local construction market, commercial risks and project cost drivers.Support senior colleagues in the delivery of cost management services across all relevant project phases.Qualifications & Experience:Good working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel.Degree in building construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying or another relevant technical discipline.1–2 years of relevant professional experience in cost management, quantity surveying, construction consultancy or a related field (strong internship or graduate experience may also be considered).Very good command of Polish and English, both written and spoken.Good technical understanding of construction processes, building systems and project delivery.Strong numerical and analytical skills, with good organisational skills and attention to detail.Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to prepare clear and well-structured emails, project documentation and reports.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the team.Knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.Ability to adapt effectively to changing client, project and market requirements.Desirable:Experience supporting projects during pre-contract and/or post-contract phases.Familiarity with CostX or similar cost management software.Familiarity with AutoCAD, Autodesk Forma or similar design and planning tools.Knowledge of construction law, contracts and relevant industry regulations.Understanding of the local construction market and pricing environment.Experience in cost analysis, benchmarking or value engineering.Experience preparing commercial, financial or project reports.What we offer:A benefits package, including: medical care, life insurance, and personal accident insurance.Monthly top-ups for MyBenefit cafeteria cards (including the option to connect a Multisport card).Subsidized foreign language learning.Reimbursement for participation in any professional organization of your choice.A personalized approach to the development of each Arkadian thanks to the GPS method.Participation in the Workplace Options program (psychological care, legal and credit counseling, among other services).Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
