Job summary

Cisco is seeking a backend-focused software engineer to develop and maintain Golang services and RESTful APIs. You will contribute to cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP and deploy containerized services in Kubernetes.

The role includes design participation, code reviews, on-call rotations, and continual learning in a collaborative environment. You will work with Unix/Linux systems, emphasize secure coding, and improve our software practices while building expertise in platform

Qualifications

• Experience developing and debugging software in Golang or another backend language.
• Understanding of software fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, automated testing, and secure coding.
• Experience developing or consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Comfort working with Unix/Linux systems and CLI tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Golang services and RESTful APIs.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure and automation across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Deploy and operate containerized services in Kubernetes.
• Participate in design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Write clean, secure code and incorporate feedback from other engineers.
• Monitor and triage production issues and participate in on-call rotations.
• Estimate assigned work and communicate progress, risks, and blockers.
• Build expertise in a platform component and share knowledge with teammates.
• Help improve our software, automation, and engineering practices.
