Job summary

WPP is hiring a Junior Cloud Engineer to join our growing team in a role focused on deploying and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP. You will gain hands-on experience with Terraform, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with senior engineers on data products and AI platforms.

The ideal candidate is a curious learner with foundational cloud knowledge, Linux basics, scripting skills, and a passion for secure, reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in a technical role with cloud exposure.
• Foundational knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (GCP).
• Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and Terraform.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and CLI.
• Some exposure to scripting languages (Python, Bash) is a plus.
• English fluency B2/C1.
• Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS).
• Interest in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Entry-level cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Digital Leader) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS and/or GCP.
• Learn to utilize Terraform to manage cloud resources and contribute to IaC module development.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement cloud solutions for data products and AI platforms.
• Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Monitor cloud services and applications; identify and resolve operational issues.
• Collect and analyze metrics, logs, and alerts to ensure health and efficiency.
• Contribute to documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
• Work with the team to ensure compliance with internal standards.
• Participate in knowledge sharing, code reviews, and provide technical support to development teams.
• Research new cloud services and features; bring ideas to the team.

What you'll be doing:

Support Cloud Infrastructure Deployment and Management

• Assistin the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure components on platforms such as AWS and/or GCP, following established designs and best practices.

• Learn toutilizeInfrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to manage cloud resources and contribute to IaC module development under guidance.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and contribute to the implementation of cloud solutions for our data products and AI platforms.

• Contribute to Automation and Operational Support

• Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, assistingwith automation of deployment and testing processes.

• Monitor cloud services and applications, contributing to the identification and resolution of operational issues and performance bottlenecks.

• Assistin collecting and analyzing metrics, logs, and alerts to ensure the health and efficiency of our cloud environments.

Uphold Security and Best Practices

• Learn and apply cloud security best practices, assistingin the configuration of IAM policies, network security groups, and other security controls.

• Contribute to documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures.

• Work with the team to ensure our cloud environments adhere to internal standards and contribute to compliance efforts.

Learn, Collaborate, and Innovate

• Activelyparticipatein team discussions, knowledge sharing sessions, and code reviews to deepen your understanding of cloud technologies and WPP's ecosystem.

• Provide technical support to development teams for cloud-related issues and questions.

• Research new cloud services and features, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas to the team.

What you'll need:
