Job summary

Software Mind seeks a junior AI-driven software engineer (.NET) to join a Polish-British team building document management software and AI-enabled developer tooling.

You will contribute to backend development with .NET, C#, APIs, and AI-assisted debugging while learning in a relaxed, growth-focused environment. Expect mentorship, code reviews, and hands-on practice in Azure/Kubernetes contexts.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of commercial experience.
• Proficient in C# and ASP.NET Core ecosystem.
• Hands-on project experience via GitHub or commercial work.
• Understanding of Web API, Entity Framework, and databases.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Familiar with AI tools for debugging and research.
• English at least B2; strong communication and independence.

• Writing clean, testable code and creating unit tests with mentor support

Project – the aim you’ll have

Join a dedicated team of Polish and British developers, testers, DevOps engineers, Data Engineers, Project Managers, and Scrum Masters building innovative document management software to advance clinical research.
We’ve partnered with our client for years, working on a trust-based, collaborative model. Our work spans development (.NET, C#, React), automation (Playwright), and DevOps (Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform), with a strong culture of knowledge sharing and teamwork.

Position – how you’ll contribute

We are looking for a growth-oriented intern or junior .NET developer who already has solid C# basics and genuinely wants to learn. We welcome a proactive mindset, where you treat AI as an everyday coding buddy that helps you debug, research, and learn faster – not as a "magic button" that does the thinking for you. If you are ready to take ownership of your tasks, want to understand how your code works under the hood, and are excited to solve real business puzzles in a relaxed, no-nonsense engineering culture, you’ll fit right in.

Your daily tasks will include:

Expectations – the experience you need

• At least 1 year of commercial experience
• Practical knowledge of C# and willingness to grow within the .NET / ASP.NET Core ecosystem
• Hands-on experience demonstrated through personal projects, a GitHub profile, or commercial exposure
• Basic understanding of backend development, Web API, Entity Framework, and databases
• Working knowledge of Git and the ability to read and improve existing code
• Practical skills in leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Claude, Gemini) for debugging, research, and automation
• Good understanding of AI limitations, including hallucinations, data security, privacy, and the necessity of verification
• English proficiency at a B2 level or higher
• Strong communication skills, independence, curiosity, and readiness to receive constructive feedback

Additional skills – the edge you have

• Active GitHub profile or a portfolio of post-hours applications
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database optimization
• First experience with writing unit tests
• Strong interest in work automation and productivity tools
