Job summary

Incubly is seeking a Java Developer to join a Scrum team delivering cloud-based solutions. You will work across the full SDLC, refining features, implementing them, and performing automated testing with production deployments.

We are looking for a Java Developer to join a Scrum team responsible for developing and maintaining modern, cloud-based solutions. You will work across the full software development lifecycle — from refining and designing new features, through implementation and automated testing, to deployments and production support.

The role combines strong Java 21+ backend development with hands‑on involvement in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Your daily responsibilities

• Contribute to refinement sessions by proposing technical designs and defining acceptance criteria for new features
• Design and develop features that meet functional, technical and quality requirements
• Estimate development workload and contribute to delivery planning for upcoming sprints
• Take ownership of unit and integration test suites and ensure required code coverage levels are maintained
• Review and remediate security vulnerabilities in source code and application dependencies
• Collaborate closely with the entire Scrum team, actively participating in Scrum ceremonies, technical discussions and pull request reviews
• Support application releases and deployments across environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve support cases and production issues
• Contribute to technical decisions, code quality improvements and the continuous evolution of the application architecture
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure as part of the regular software delivery process

We need you to have

• Strong commercial experience in backend software development using Java 21+
• Very good knowledge of the Java ecosystem and modern Java development practices
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and building production‑grade backend applications
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and distributed services
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and related design patterns
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Strong experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing
• Understanding of software security principles, dependency management and vulnerability remediation
• Hands‑on DevOps experience, including working with CI/CD pipelines and automated application deployments
• Practical experience with Docker and containerized applications
• Experience working with Kubernetes
• Practical knowledge of cloud environments and cloud‑native application development
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated infrastructure provisioning
• Good understanding of Git‑based development workflows, code reviews and pull requests
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across application, infrastructure and deployment layers
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed engineering team
• Good command of English, both spoken and written

It would be great if you also have

• Experience with data processing and ETL pipelines, including batch and stream processing
• Experience working with Apache Iceberg tables
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow
• Experience with dbt
• Practical programming experience with Python
• Experience using Claude Code or similar AI‑assisted software development tools in your engineering workflow
• Experience working with large‑scale data platforms or data‑intensive applications
• Experience in environments where reliability, security and maintainability are critical
