Job summary

Accenture Poland is looking for an experienced Java/Backend Engineer to design, build and implement custom applications for clients, using Java 17+ and Spring Boot. You will contribute to microservices architectures hosted in cloud environments and collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure high quality and smooth delivery.

You will work in agile, international teams with exposure to cloud solutions, Spring Cloud, data processing and AI.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of commercial experience with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin).
• Experience with the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Hibernate) and testing frameworks such as JUnit, JMockit or Cucumber.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases; strong SQL; design/consume REST APIs.
• Understanding of CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins, GitCI, Maven, Nexus, SonarQube and Git.
• Ability to work with Docker and basic familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Fluent Polish and English enabling collaboration with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and implement custom applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Create microservices-based architectures in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure high software quality and stable production operations.
• Work in an agile environment (Scrum) and support process improvements.
• Flexible work location including remote, onsite, or client offices (2–3 days in Kraków or Wrocław).

THE WORK

• Design, build and implementcustom based applications for our clients across industries such as Finance, Telecommunication, Products and Resources, using technologies like Java 17+, Spring Boot.

• Contribute to designing and buildingmicroservices-based architectures hosted in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), depending on business requirements.

• Collaborate closelywith QA and DevOps teams to ensure high software quality, seamless delivery pipelines, and stable production operations.

• Work in an agile environment (Scrum), actively participating in ceremonies and supporting continuous improvement of team processes and ways of working.

• Enjoy flexibilityregarding work location, which may include remote work, onsite work at client locations, or time spent in an Accenture office — depending on project specifics. (Here is work from client office 2-3 days per week in Kraków or Wrocław).

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• At least 4 years of commercial experienceworking with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin)

• Practical experience with the Spring ecosystem(e.g., Spring Boot, Hibernate) and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, JMockit or Cucumber.

• Experience with relational and non‑relational databases, strong SQL skills, and hands‑on practice in designing and consuming REST APIs.

• Understanding of CI/CD processesand familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, GitCI, Maven, Nexus, SonarQube and Git.

• Ability to work with Dockerand basic familiarity with Kubernetes.

• Fluent Polish and English, enabling effective collaboration with international teams and active participation in discussions with stakeholders.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE

• Hands on experience in using AI in SDLC with tools like GH Copilot, Claude Code.

• Working knowledge of distributed systems architectureand technologies such as Apache Kafka.

• Deeper experience in designing microservices architecturesin multi‑cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Hands‑on experience with observability and monitoring toolssuch as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace or the ELK Stack.
