Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Java Backend Engineer to design, implement and optimize scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.

You will build RESTful APIs, deploy in AWS, work with Kubernetes and Docker, and collaborate with Product, QA and design teams in an Agile environment.

The role emphasizes secure, resilient systems with observability, CI/CD automation, and strong coding standards.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Spring Boot and/or Micronaut frameworks.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and design patterns.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and Docker experience.
• Agile delivery experience and participation in ceremonies.
• Strong troubleshooting in complex distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs that support financial products.
• Produce clean, maintainable, well-documented code and following engineering standards.
• Build scalable microservices to support cloud-native architectures.
• Develop event-driven solutions using modern messaging technologies.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
• Develop and deploy applications in AWS, focusing on security and scalability.
• Support containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation and DevOps best practices.
• Ensure observability, monitoring, and logging across services.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineers, QA, Designers, and Stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and refinement sessions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across teams.
• Act as SME on backend technologies and patterns.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices.
• Drive engineering standards and code review excellence.
