Job summary

ALOIS UK is seeking a Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and enhance intelligent digital products with AI at the core, delivering scalable backend solutions with quality, security, observability, and reliability. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to build microservices and REST APIs on Azure, using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud, and modern testing.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Spring Batch and Spring Cloud.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing Microservices.
• Strong knowledge of REST API development.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Services, including Cosmos DB or other NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Confluent Kafka or similar data streaming platforms.
• OAuth 2.0 authentication/authorization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously improve intelligent backend applications supporting HR and employee-focused digital services.
• Develop scalable backend solutions using modern engineering practices and agile methodologies.
• Analyze business and user requirements to build new features and enhancements.
• Implement automated testing, deployment pipelines, and observability practices.
• Ensure applications meet functional and non-functional requirements, including quality, security, reliability, and compliance.
• Build monitoring and observability into applications to maintain production health.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Advocate for user-centric, explainable, ethical, and responsible AI-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers.
• Share technical knowledge, support hiring and onboarding initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
