Job summary

Arla is seeking an IT Specialist – OT Infrastructure to join a skilled team supporting the critical on-premises infrastructure behind Arla’s manufacturing sites. You will ensure reliable servers, virtualization, backup and recovery capabilities to keep production running safely and securely.

The role requires hands-on experience with VMware/ESXi, Windows Server and backup solutions, plus strong incident, change and lifecycle management in SLA-driven environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in server infrastructure operations with hands-on VMware/ESXi experience.
• Strong backup/recovery discipline and lifecycle management for VMs.
• Experience in SLA-driven service delivery and incident handling.
• Proficient in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support OT On-Prem Data Center services including servers, virtualization, backup and recovery.
• Monitor performance, availability, capacity and health; pro-actively mitigate risks.
• Coordinate maintenance, patching, upgrades and lifecycle activities.
• Perform backup validation, recovery tests and failover exercises for business continuity.
• Act as escalation point and provide expert support to site IT teams and partners.
• Support major incidents during business hours and on-call rotations.
• Ensure timely resolution and communication of incidents and service requests.

How you will make an impact

As an IT Specialist – OT Infrastructure, you will join a skilled team supporting the critical on-premises infrastructure behind Arla’s manufacturing sites. Together, we ensure reliable servers, virtualization, backup and recovery solutions that keep production running safely and securely.

You will work closely with OT Infrastructure colleagues, site IT teams, vendors and technical specialists to ensure reliable services that meet agreed service levels, security requirements and operational standards

Tasks and Responsibilities include

• Deliver and support OT On-Prem Data Center services, including server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, backup services and supporting technologies.
• Monitor service performance, availability, capacity and operational health, proactively identifying and addressing risks before they impact production.
• Coordinate and execute infrastructure maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, hardware replacements and lifecycle management.
• Perform backup validation, recovery testing and failover exercises to ensure business continuity requirements are met.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and provide expert support to site IT teams and service partners.
• Support major incident response activities both during standard working hours and as part of the on-call rota when required.
• Ensure timely resolution and communication of incidents, service requests and operational issues in accordance with agreed support processes and service commitments.

This role is primarily operated within standard business hours, with participation in an on-call rota to support business-critical production environments outside normal working hours when required.

What will make you successful

For this role, we are looking for someone with at least 3+ years of experience within, Server infrastructure operations. Particularly hands‑on experience supporting VMware, ESXi, server backup and virtual machine hardware lifecycle management.

• Have a strong knowledge of backup, recovery and business continuity concepts, preferably with Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Experience working with Windows Server environments and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
• Proven experience working within SLA-driven support or service delivery organisations.
• Strong understanding of incident, problem, change and lifecycle management processes.
• Experience working with service providers, support partners and business stakeholders.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and coordinate resolution across multiple teams.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
