Aon plc is seeking an IT Lead in Poland to guide a team of engineers across Germany and India, while contributing hands-on in solution design, development and code reviews using C#, .NET, SQL, JavaScript and React.

You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and work closely with Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, Solution Architects and Project Managers, applying AI tools to daily engineering tasks.

Competenze

• 6–8 years of software engineering experience including leadership and mentoring.
• Hands-on with C#, ASP.NET/.NET Core/MVC, SQL, JavaScript and React.
• Experience translating business needs into technical solutions and ownership of complex development from design through delivery.
• Strong experience with APIs, system integrations and database design.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across international teams.

What the day will look like

As an IT Lead, you will lead a team of engineers working across Germany and India. This is a hands-on role where you will set technical direction as you also contribute to solution build, development and code reviews.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading the end-to-end delivery of your team's work, from solution design and implementation through testing and release.
• Interpreting product requirements to develop clear technical solutions, considering dependencies across the wider platform and ensuring solutions are scalable and maintainable.
• Contributing hands-on to development and technical build using C#, .NET, SQL, JavaScript and React, while leading build and peer evaluations.
• Supporting strong engineering practices across APIs, automated testing, CI/CD and software architecture, while managing technical risks and dependencies.
• Leading, mentoring and coaching engineers, fostering their progress and working closely with Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, Solution Architects and Project Managers.
• Using AI tools in day-to-day engineering work, including design, development, code review and documentation, and helping the team use these tools effectively and responsibly.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• 6–8 years of software engineering experience, with experience leading, mentoring or coordinating other engineers and a clear progression towards technical leadership.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET/.NET Core/MVC, SQL, JavaScript and React, together with a solid understanding of software develop and architecture.
• Experience translating business or product requirements into technical solutions and taking ownership of complex development from design through delivery.
• Strong experience with APIs, system integrations and database design, including querying, schema design and query optimisation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical direction, mentor engineers and work effectively across international teams.

Experience with Azure, AKS/Kubernetes, Azure DevOps CI/CD, OpenAPI governance, globally distributed engineering teams or building products from scratch would be an advantage.
