Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk in Warsaw is seeking an Indirect Tax Operations Senior Specialist as ITX initiatives scale globally.

You will prepare and review indirect tax returns for complex entities, mentor staff, monitor legislation, and provide regional ITX advisory, supported by SAP.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5–10 years in indirect tax, plus strong English and Excel; the firm offers a competitive salary, benefits, and career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting & Finance, Tax, or a related field.
• Approximately 5–10 years of experience in indirect tax compliance processes, including international tax compliance and audit support.
• Knowledge of financial and accounting systems and processes.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Very good English skills; additional languages are an advantage.
• Strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/ or Review indirect tax returns for complex and non-complex entities, including processing, analysis, exception checking, reconciliations, and tax payments.
• Support and mentor Preparer/Specialists in day-to-day compliance and transition activities.
• Support ITX legislative monitoring for the region.
• Provide ITX operational advisory for the region.
• Prepare and maintain tax support workpapers accurately and on time, in line with jurisdictional requirements and filing deadlines.
• Maintain supporting documentation and evidence for tax filing positions and future audits.
• Identify, initiate, and support continuous process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Support indirect tax audits across various jurisdictions and ensure audit readiness.
