Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an Illumio L3 Security Engineer to fortify enterprise environments through Illumio microsegmentation and robust access controls. You will design, deploy, and support Illumio solutions, guiding complex troubleshooting and security posture for global clients.

The role requires deep expertise in cyber and network security, with hands-on Illumio Core experience and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in cyber security or network security.
• 3+ years hands-on Illumio Core in enterprise environments.
• Strong microsegmentation and Zero Trust expertise.
• Experience with Fortinet FortiGate and Check Point firewalls.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, NAT and VPN.
• Proficient in Windows and Linux administration.
• Certifications such as PCNSE / Fortinet FCP / CCNP Security / CISSP.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage Illumio microsegmentation tailored to enterprise needs.
• Develop and enforce security policies, labels and rulesets for compliance.
• Map dependencies and segment workloads efficiently.
• Troubleshoot Illumio-related issues including policy configurations.

As an Illumio L3 Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in fortifying enterprise environments through advanced microsegmentation and network security strategies. This position is pivotal in designing, implementing, and supporting Illumio solutions, ensuring robust security architecture, and providing technical leadership for complex troubleshooting. Your expertise will directly impact the company’s ability to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative solutions to global clients.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Illumio microsegmentation solutions tailored to enterprise requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, labels, and rulesets to ensure compliance and protection.
• Perform comprehensive application dependency mapping and segment workloads efficiently.
• Troubleshoot complex Illumio-related issues, including connectivity and policy configurations at L3 escalation level.
• Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and support internal and external security audits.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with server, cloud, network, and application teams to deliver seamless security integration.
• Mentor and guide L1/L2 engineers, providing technical leadership and escalation support.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to proactively improve security infrastructure.

Skill Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Cyber Security or Network Security roles.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Illumio Core in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in microsegmentation and Zero Trust security frameworks.
• Proven experience with perimeter firewalls, including:
• Fortinet FortiGate
• Check Point
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, NAT, VPN, and advanced security troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Relevant certifications such as:
• PCNSE / Fortinet FCP
• CCNP Security / CISSP

Other Requirements (Optional)

• Familiarity with Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA) solutions.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to SIEM platforms and security automation tools.
