Job summary

Payback PL is seeking a Principal AI & Data Scientist (Team Lead) to provide technical and people leadership for the Data Science team in a hybrid setup in Warszawa. You will build and deploy AI products, oversee the full ML lifecycle, and collaborate with business stakeholders to implement concrete AI solutions.

The role requires hands-on Python, strong GCP expertise (Vertex AI, BigQuery), and a proactive ML/Ops mindset with a focus on scalable, production-ready models.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing and operationalizing data science and AI products.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, data engineering, and ML model development.
• Hands-on GCP experience with Vertex AI, BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
• Practical experience with MLOps, CI/CD; familiarity with Terraform and dbt.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to the Data Science team.
• Develop innovative data and AI products using ML methods.
• Oversee lifecycle of ML models from exploration to deployment and retraining.
• Guide deployment of models to production on GCP and establish best practices.
