Job summary

Wipro is seeking a DB2 Database Administrator on a contract basis in Gdańsk, Poland. The role is hybrid, with three days in the office from Gdańsk, and involves supporting production, development, testing, and QA environments.

You will manage DB2 UDB databases, perform health checks, restart services, install DB2 clients, and monitor performance with dashboards. Strong UNIX/Linux and scripting skills are essential, along with solid communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in administration of DB2 UDB, Partitioning and HA for databases.
• Proven experience in SQL (DDL, DML) especially in the database administration and management.
• Experience UNIX and supporting DB2 on UNIX, UNIX shell and awk scripting and Windows.
• Knowledge of Enterprise backup solutions is preferred.
• Adhere to ITIL processes and ability to work in PROD, DEV, TEST and QA environments.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administration of DB2 UDB, Partitioning and HA for databases
• Performing initial checks for common issues (e.g., login failures, minor connectivity problems).
• Restart DB2 services or instances as per SOPs.
• Responsibility for installation of DB2 client and other DB2 related products.
• Monitor DB2 database health using predefined tools and dashboards.
• Respond to alerts related to performance, space utilization, and connectivity.
