Job summary

Jit in Kraków seeks a System Development Engineer for the PowerDrive Systems unit. You’ll deliver hybrids and EV system functions for HV inverters and powertrains, coordinating with hardware, software, and test teams across the product lifecycle. Expect technical leadership, design discussions with customers, and travel up to 25% as needed.

You’ll develop robust system concepts and requirements, drive risk analysis, and support ISO 26262 activities to ensure safety-compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics.
• At least 5 years of experience in automotive system development, preferably HV inverters.
• Strong understanding of HV inverter functions, motor control, and electric propulsion systems.
• Solid Systems Engineering knowledge: requirements, architecture, integration, verification, validation.
• Proven technical leadership and experience driving complex topics.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety and HV Safety.
• Experience with automotive customers and managing technical stakeholders.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, define, and deliver system functions for HV inverters and electrified powertrain systems.
• Create system concepts and requirements, considering quality, performance, cost, timing, and customer expectations.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Coordinate hardware, software, calibration, safety, and test teams to ensure successful function development.
• Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot technical issues, and define system-level solutions.
• Support Functional Safety activities, including Technical Safety Concepts, SFMEA, and FTA per ISO 26262.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to project teams.
• Monitor and report technical progress, risks, and mitigation plans to management.
• Participate in customer meetings and vehicle testing activities, with up to 25% business travel.
