Job summary

Colonnade Insurance S.A. is seeking a skilled Guidewire Developer to design, develop and deliver large-scale insurance system features within our transformation programme.

You will work on PolicyCenter and PolicyCenter Rating engine, aligning business requirements with technical solutions in a Scrum team. You will collaborate with business analysts, testers and delivery managers to ensure high-quality implementations and maintain clear documentation.

Qualifications

• At least two years of hands-on experience configuring Guidewire PolicyCenter.
• Strong understanding of product configuration and rating management.
• Good understanding of REST API standards and SQL databases.
• Fluent English and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features in Guidewire PolicyCenter.

ROLE PURPOSE

This role is a strategic hire to ensure Colonnade can successfully design, develop and deliver large Colonnade-wide projects within our transformation programme.

The main role of hired person will be to develop and maintain our core insurance system and work closely with business team to help converting business requirements into new system features in Guidewire PolicyCenter and PolicyCenter Rating engine.

The incumbent will work in Scrum Team together with other developers, testers and business analysts and will be responsible for development of new features, controlling code quality and supporting business to allow delivery of necessary implementation on core platform and digital front ends.

DAY TO DAY TASKS - MAIN DUTIES

• Design and implement new features in Guidewire PolicyCenter, especially in the area of product configuration, rating, document flow, REST API integrations
• Support of existing platform with strong focus on code quality and good solution design
• Collaborate with business analysts, testers, product owners and delivery managers
• Fix defects and reduce technical debt
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Build strong relationships with workstream colleagues and all senior stakeholders to drive transparency of program workloads, financial, commitments, and expectation
• Actively participate in Scrum events: Planning, Daily, Retrospective, Refinement

REQUIREMENTS

List of requirements to be successful in the future role:

• At least two years of hands-on experience in configuration of Guidewire PolicyCenter, with strong understanding of product configuration and rating management
• Good understanding of OOP principles, design patterns and focus on clean code and quality
• Good understanding of REST API standard from provider/consumer perspective
• Understanding of SQL database principles
• Fluent English and communication skills
• Eager to learn new technologies and solutions
• Experience in working with project/product delivery Scrum teams as a developer
• Strength with problem-solving, issue resolution, proactive, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment and attention to detail

Additionally, the ideal candidates:

• Are familiar with other Guidewire centers
• Have experience working in consulting, delivery, or IT company, especially in the field of non-life insurance
• Have experience working in distributed, international team
