Job summary

Cisco is seeking a mid-level software engineer to contribute to our Cloud Service Providers Platform. You will develop and maintain Go services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with Kubernetes-based deployment and on-call responsibilities.

The role emphasizes secure coding, code reviews, and collaboration with engineers to improve software and operational practices. Prior backend experience in Go and cloud familiarity are key for success.

Qualifications

• Must have experience developing and debugging software in Golang or another backend language.
• Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, automated testing, and secure coding.
• Experience developing or consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
• Comfort working with Unix/Linux systems and command-line tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Golang services and RESTful APIs.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure and automation across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Deploy and operate containerized services in Kubernetes.
• Participate in technical design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Write clean, secure code and incorporate feedback from other engineers.
• Monitor and triage production issues and participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
