Job summary

Bosch is seeking a System Engineer to join the global infrastructure team, shaping enterprise compute and virtualization across Linux servers, vSphere/vSAN, and storage platforms. You will automate, harden, and operate complex environments, spanning multiple regions, with a focus on reliability and security.

You will lead virtualization evolution, manage Linux at scale, write automation code, and collaborate with procurement and vendors to ensure technology readiness. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter environments.
• Knowledge of software-defined storage (VMware vSAN) and enterprise storage concepts.
• Experience with monitoring and capacity management tools.
• Engineering experience with RHEL/Ubuntu/Debian Linux.
• Understanding of networking, OS storage (LVM, multipathing) and directory integration (Kerberos, AD, PAM).
• Automation using Ansible, Bash, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Operate and evolve global virtualization and vSAN clusters.
• Manage Linux at scale across thousands of servers.
• Develop automation and IaC using Ansible, scripts, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Oversee x86 hardware standards and lifecycle; collaborate with procurement.
• Design and optimize software-defined storage (SAN/NAS) and vSAN.
• Serve as escalation point for complex issues across hardware/Hypervisor/OS/storage.
• Implement security hardening and integrate with identity providers.
• Enhance monitoring/observability (Grafana, Nagios, Icinga).
• Provide SME guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
