Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the Tax Team on a maternity backfill assignment. You will work on US state tax laws, sales, use, and personal property tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

You will collaborate with external advisers and internal finance teams to provide data-backed insights and ensure timely tax compliance in a fast-paced tech environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in US indirect tax compliance/consulting.
• Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities with data-backed analysis.
• Ability to create clear documentation and work-papers.
• Very good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing Excel spreadsheets and work papers to support sales/use and personal property returns.
• Liaising with external tax service providers to ensure compliance and audits.
• Interacting with tax authorities to resolve notices and information requests.
• Analyzing tax accounts and performing necessary reconciliations.
• Collaborating with Finance teams to support tax-related financial operations.
• Coordinating EFT payments for taxes due.
• Reviewing exemption certificates to apply sales tax to correct jurisdictions.
• Contributing to best practice guidelines to improve processes.
