Job summary

Goldman Recruitment - Executive Search / Search & Selection is partnering with an international retail group to hire an experienced GL Process Manager. You will lead a growing General Ledger team, shape processes in a fast-paced SSC environment, and drive stability and continuous improvement across multiple countries.

You will own month-end close, manage KPIs and SLAs, support audits, and coordinate transitions and migrations while developing people and strengthening internal controls.

Qualifications

• Several years of people management experience in SSC/GBS environments.
• Strong background in General Ledger, R2R and accounting controls.
• Proven track record in process transitions, migrations and stabilization.
• Ability to structure processes, set priorities and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Manage a GL team and oversee structure, workload, capacity planning and people development.
• Ensure timely delivery of GL processes, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs; drive continuous improvement across sites and countries.
• Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and balance sheet integrity.
• Support audits, internal controls and cross-country accounting processes.

Job description

For our Client, an international company from the retail sector, we are looking for an experienced GL Process Manager who will take responsibility for a growing General Ledger team and play a key role in structuring, stabilizing and improving accounting processes within a dynamic SSC environment.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys change, transformation and process improvement, and who can combine strong people management skills with a strong focus on process excellence.

Responsibilities:

• managing a GL team,
• responsibility for team structure, workload, capacity planning and people development,
• ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of GL processes,
• overseeing month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities,
• monitoring KPIs and SLAs and driving continuous improvement,
• supervising key General Ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and account reconciliations,
• ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data,
• overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items,
• supporting accounting and reporting processes across multiple countries,
• supporting internal and external audits and internal control processes,
• ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls,
• identifying opportunities for process standardization, automation and optimization,
• leading and coordinating process transitions and migrations,
• ensuring successful stabilization of newly transitioned processes,
• managing escalations and ensuring process continuity and stability,
• driving process improvement and transformation initiatives,
• building strong relationships with international stakeholders and local finance teams.

Requirements:

• several years of people management experience within an SSC/GBS environment,
• strong background in General Ledger/Accounting/R2R,
• proven experience in process transitions, migrations and stabilization,
• strong understanding of accounting processes and controls,
• comfort working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment,
• strong track record in team management and people development,
• ability to structure processes, set priorities and effectively drive change,
• experience with month-end/year-end closing, reconciliations and financial reporting,
• experience working with internal and external auditors,
• degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field,
