Position Summary:
Are you looking to make an impact in a global pharmaceutical company dedicated to improving lives through allergy treatments? ALK is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Ledger Accountant to join our European Accounting Centre in Kraków. In this vital role, you will manage core financial processes, ensure high-quality GL entries, and contribute to accurate financial reporting across international operations.

You will work as part of ALK’s Global Business Services Centre (GBSC), a dynamic and collaborative team supporting 8 global business lines, including IT, Accounting, Sales & Marketing, and HR. This is an opportunity to thrive in an international environment with room for growth and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily General Ledger (GL) postings, including payroll file uploads, recurring documents, and re-postings.
  • Upload and process EBS and MC bank files into SAP.
  • Post daily bank transactions and reconcile monthly bank balances.
  • Manage ALK Expense processes including travel and personal expense claims, user training, and MasterCard account administration.
  • Prepare and submit Monthly Statistic List and Intrastat reports.
  • Execute month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and related tasks.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and quarterly interest calculations/invoicing.
  • Calculate, reconcile, and report VAT (incoming and outgoing) with strong documentation support.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in accounting within a large company, SSC, or group finance function.
  • Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; French language skills are a strong asset.
  • Highly organized and accurate, with a proactive and dependable work style.
  • Strong planning and documentation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Integrity, trustworthiness, and respect for others are essential qualities.
