Job summary

Phoenix Contact invites highly motivated interns to join our AI/ML team in a hybrid setup. You will help build a retrieval system for technical product data and contribute to evaluating GenAI outputs, while shaping prompts for LLM workflows. This six-month internship offers hands-on experience with real-world projects and mentorship from experienced developers.

The role supports flexible hours to fit university commitments and provides state-of-the-art hardware for experimentation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (final year) or Master's in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with AI concepts.
• Experience with Git and collaborative software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve a retrieval system for technical product data (RAG).
• Implement evaluation methods for GenAI system performance and output quality.
• Design and optimize prompts for LLM-based workflows (Prompt Engineering).
• Build and prototype agentic AI systems for complex engineering tasks.
• Support the development of Python-based AI pipelines and research prototypes.
