As a software engineer, you will work on a project critical to Google Cloud's needs with opportunities to switch teams as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain features for GenAI-powered developer tools, focusing on server-side code and middleware systems that interact with Google's latest LLMs.
• Take end-to-end ownership of moderately complex projects or major features, from technical design and scoping through implementation, launch, and production support.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, researchers, SREs, and other engineers to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver robust and scalable solutions.
• Author and present detailed design documents for features and system improvements. Actively participate in and contribute to design and code reviews, ensuring high standards of quality and engineering excellence.
• Uphold and advocate for software engineering best practices within the team, with a focus on code quality, test coverage, system reliability, performance optimization, and maintainability.
