Job summary

Schoolhouse is seeking a Mid-level Software Engineer to help build features used by hundreds of thousands of learners and tutors worldwide. Join a 5-person engineering team and own full-stack features from conception to deployment.

You’ll work with a designer and stakeholders to ship experiments, improve existing operations, and ensure safety and quality in interactions across our platform. The role emphasizes ownership, rapid iteration, and user-centered thinking.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js and Postgres.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) is a plus.
• Able to work with US Pacific Time morning schedules.

Responsibilities

• Work with users and teammates to understand problems, contribute product ideas, and take work from prototypes / experiments through deployment.
• Scope work and make technical decisions with support from experienced teammates.
• Write simple, readable code that’s easy to maintain and change.
• Participate in code reviews and pairing sessions to help maintain codebase quality.
