Job summary

RedTrack is seeking a Software Developer to become the first engineer in a spec-driven, AI-first development model. The role emphasizes turning requirements into precise technical specifications, identifying ambiguity, and guiding AI-assisted implementation.

You will help shape how spec-driven engineering works in practice and set the standards for backend design and quality. As the first engineering hire, you will design backend components, review code (including code you didn’t write), and

Qualifications

• Translate ambiguous requirements into precise technical specs.
• Review and reason about unfamiliar code for architectural fit and maintainability.
• Design reliable backend components and data access patterns.
• Strong testing, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, observability, and production engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Turn product and technical requirements into implementation-ready specifications.
• Identify ambiguity, constraints, failure scenarios, and technical risks before implementation.
• Use AI agents to implement solutions by providing specs, context, constraints, and acceptance criteria.
• Review AI-generated and unfamiliar code for correctness and scalability.
• Define how spec-driven AI-assisted engineering should work in practice.
• Validate solutions through testing, benchmarking, and runtime metrics.
• Investigate failures and refine engineering guardrails and tooling.
