Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods, Inc. is seeking a Daycare Security Operations lead to oversee on-site security for our daycare facility.

You will manage daily coverage, coordinate two Corporate Security Specialists, and guide the team in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment while enforcing security requirements. Responsibilities include access control, incident documentation, and collaboration with daycare leadership to address operational needs.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in physical security, safety, crisis or incident response, and customer service.
• Experience coordinating daily work or providing functional leadership.
• Familiarity with CCTV, access control, burglar and fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

OVERVIEW:

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Please note that the available shift is Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm ET.

On-Site Daycare Security Operations

• Serve as the day-to-day security lead for the on-site daycare facility, maintaining a visible and professional presence for children, families, daycare staff, teammates, and visitors.
• Coordinate daily post coverage, assignments, priorities, and handoffs for two Corporate Security Specialists dedicated to the daycare.
• Provide functional direction, coaching, and real-time operational support to the dedicated Specialists.
• Elevate formal performance, scheduling, or employment matters to the appropriate people leader.
• Coordinate access control, visitor management, patrols, alarm response, emergency procedures, drills, safety inspections, and security equipment testing.
• Monitor daycare security operations, identify potential risks or coverage gaps, and escalated concerns through established channels.
• Partner with daycare and Security leadership to address operational needs, document incidents, and reinforce approved security procedures.

Crisis Response and Safety Support

• Monitor real-time alerts and potential safety concerns affecting the daycare and surrounding campus.
• Assess available information and follow established incident response, escalation, and communication protocols.
• Support emergency response activities, including coordination with daycare leadership, stakeholder communication, and follow-up actions.
• Participate in after-action reviews and support updates to applicable emergency and crisis response procedures.
• Reinforce executive, teammate, child, family, and visitor safety protocols within the scope of the role.

Training, Readiness, and Compliance

• Coordinate role-specific onboarding, training, and readiness activities for the Specialists assigned to the daycare.
• Reinforce consistent application of security procedures, service expectations, reporting standards, and emergency response protocols.
• Conduct or coordinate drills, inspections, and security equipment checks.
• Document and communicate identified gaps, follow-up needs, and recommended operational improvements to Security leadership.

Customer Service and Business Partnership

• Provide professional and responsive support to children, families, daycare staff, teammates, visitors, and business partners.
• Collaborate with daycare leadership, Security leadership, Facilities, and other partners to address operational and safety needs.
• Communicate clearly and calmly during routine operations, service needs, and security incidents.
• Support a safe, welcoming, and service-oriented environment while maintaining established security requirements.

Corporate Security and Shuttle Support

• Perform scheduled airport shuttle assignments at the same execution level as the Corporate Security Specialist role.
• Complete vehicle readiness checks and communicate maintenance, scheduling, or coverage concerns to the appropriate leader.
• Provide limited corporate security coverage based on operational needs, including patrols, access control, visitor support, alarms, escorts, and incident response.
• Maintain accurate reports, logs, and documentation associated with assigned shuttle or corporate security duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, or equivalent prior military or law enforcement experience
• 3-5 years of experience in physical security, safety, crisis or incident response, and customer service, including experience coordinating daily work or providing functional leadership
