Job description

As a Graduate CPFP MTO Specialist at PPG, you will begin your career by supporting the estimation of passive fire protection requirements for steel structures. You will assist in preparing estimates of STEELGUARD product quantities and specifications, while developing the skills needed to interpret engineering drawings and technical requirements.

Working under the guidance of experienced specialists and the wider team, you will receive structured training and mentoring to strengthen your technical knowledge, software proficiency, and communication skills. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate to grow into a specialist, contributing to the success of the GSTC PFP Estimation Team and Sales Team, and helping build the department’s reputation for service excellence worldwide.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support global, regional, and local sales teams by assisting in the preparation of estimates for paint thickness and quantities required for fire protection of steel structures.
  • Learn to coordinate with the project specification team, BDMs, and/or field technical specialists to understand project requirements and recommend suitable product solutions.
  • Gain hands-on experience with tools such as PlanSwift for material take-offs and Quantifire for technical calculations.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the daily project tracker and enquiry register.
  • Develop technical knowledge in steel structure design, Cellulosic & Hydrocarbon Fire Protection, and passive fire protection principles.
  • Collaborate closely with senior specialists to build confidence in client communication and project handling.

Skills And Qualifications We Look For

  • A degree in Engineering (preferably Civil or Mechanical) or a related discipline.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret engineering or architectural drawings, with a willingness to further develop these skills through training and mentorship.
  • Interest in industries such as construction, steel fabrication, mechanical engineering, or architecture.
  • Familiarity with CAD and Microsoft Office is an advantage (training will be provided).
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to engage professionally with clients and learn from experienced colleagues.
  • A proactive and curious attitude, eager to be trained, supported, and mentored by the team.
  • Willingness to grow technical knowledge in paint technology, STEELGUARD products, and passive fire protection principles.
  • Experience with digital tools such as PlanSwift, BlueBeam, or similar software is highly valued.
