Woodward, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager - Test Automation to lead a team of software and test engineers in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes development of testing processes, Lean/DFM alignment, and driving continuous improvement while ensuring quality and efficiency across the department. The candidate will shape capital plans, manage the budget, and support customers and suppliers on process-related matters, leveraging extensive experience in

Qualifications

• Excellent people, time management, and project management skills.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate engineers to perform beyond their comfort zone.
• Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and formal problem solving tools.
• Significant understanding of production processes for electronics controllers and electromechanical actuators assembly and test in industrial and aero environment (preferable high mix, low volume)
• Understanding of EOL test designs and programming.
• Understanding Industry 4.0
• Experience with production transfers between sites will be a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial or test engineering and minimum 3 years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and manage a staff of test engineers.
• Develop, improve, and validate testing processes for existing and new products according to LEAN Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Develop relevant capital plans and drive continuous improvement activities to improve the productivity of the test operations.
• Plan and execute department budget.
• Support customers and suppliers in process related matters as required to fulfill the needs of the organization.
