Overview

Engineering Manager (Kotlin / React) – SceneXtract-ADAS at HERE Technologies. Lead a talented engineering team and drive technical excellence in automotive software development for SceneXtract, a platform that extracts maps and creates simulation environments for autonomous driving systems.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team developing map extraction and simulation tools for ADAS/Autonomous Driving solutions
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development
  • Manage resources, timelines, and project risks to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule
  • Drive technical architecture and design decisions aligned with HERE's technology ecosystem
  • Develop and maintain software across our diverse technology stack (React web applications, databases, AWS cloud infrastructure)
  • Ensure scalable, user-friendly applications using modern development practices and tools
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing software for peak performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications into broader system architectures
  • Work closely with other HERE teams to integrate ADAS solutions with geospatial technologies and mapping platforms
  • Engage directly with partners and customers to gather insights and translate them into technical solutions
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in automotive software
Who are you?
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years leading software development teams and delivering complex products
  • Technical Experience: 5+ years in full-stack web application development
  • Architecture Expertise: Strong background in architectural and system design
Technical Skills (Hands-on experience with at least one of):
  • Java/Kotlin with Spring Boot
  • OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
  • Generative AI, LLMs, and Prompt Engineering
Cloud & DevOps Expertise
  • Experience with scalable, cloud-based solutions and distributed systems on AWS
  • Proficiency in modern development practices: Agile, CI/CD, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Infrastructure-as-Code experience
Communication
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
Nice to Have
  • Experience with geospatial technologies, mapping, or location-based services
  • Knowledge of HERE's APIs, HD Live Map, or Open Location Platform
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka), and large-scale analytics
