Collins Aerospace in Poland is seeking a senior R&D leader to guide advanced technologies in Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Multiphysics. You will drive roadmaps, manage a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with global engineering, operations and management.

The role emphasizes strategic input to the product portfolio, project execution, external partnerships and funding pursuits. A strong background in R&D leadership and English communication is essential for success in this hybrid

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
• At least 10 years of experience in R&D roles, with a proven track record.
• Leadership skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience in project or engineering services management, including planning and risk management.
• Ability to define project scope, milestones and success criteria with business goals.
• Experience in managing cross-functional and distributed teams in matrix organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with balance of depth and oversight.
• Hands-on experience implementing new technologies in Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Multiphysics.

Responsibilities

• Execute R&D roadmaps for Advanced Technologies focusing on Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Multiphysics.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of research engineers.
• Collaborate across global engineering, operations and management teams.
• Oversee project execution ensuring milestones, deliverables and budgets are met.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to drive technology developments.
• Provide strategic input into product portfolio and design processes.
• Present updates to partners and GETC leadership.
• Support external funding pursuits and collaborations with academia and industry.
• Coordinate opportunities across GETC project portfolio as needed.

What challenges will you face in your new role?

• Execute R&D roadmaps for Advanced Technologies, with focus on Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Multiphysics methodologies development.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of research engineers. Proactively identify emerging skills requirements and development strategies to continuously grow team capabilities.
• Cross- Functional and global collaboration. Partner closely with engineering, operations and management teams across global organization.
• Oversee projects execution ensuring milestones, deliverables and budgets are met on time.
• Coordinate with internal and external business partners to launch and drive forward technology developments.
• Provide strategic input into product portfolio and into design & development processes.
• Present updates to internal/external business partners and GETC leadership.
• Support External Funding pursuits and external collaborations with academic institutions, research & technology organizations and industry partners.
• Coordinate opportunities and technologies across GETC project portfolio as needed

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
• At least 10 years of experience in R&D roles, with a proven track record of delivering results in early stages research to implementation.
• Leadership skills, demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English.
• Proven track record in project or engineering services management, including planning, execution, risk management.
• Strong ability to define project scope, milestones, and success criteria and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Experience in managing cross-functional and distributed teams, with demonstrated leadership in matrix organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical depth and strategic oversight.
• Hands-on experience with implementation of new technologies in aera of Materials, Advanced Manufacturing & Multiphysics.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level audiences.
• Background in managing customer or government-funded technology development programs, including proposal preparation and execution.
• Recognized thought leadership or SME status in aerospace or technology development.
