Job summary

Geotab Inc. seeks an Embedded Systems Test Engineer to develop automated testing solutions for software and embedded systems. You will define test strategies, automate tests, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other teams, focusing on hardware‑software integration, real‑time constraints, and safety. A strong background in QA practices, programming, and automation is essential.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of QA Automation, Manual Testing, Security Testing, Performance Testing, Agile QA, or Python/pytest to develop hardware‑firmware automation test frameworks.
• 1+ years of embedded development and low‑level programming (C).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• CI/CD pipelines experience; GitLab pipeline a plus.
• Experience unit/integration/system, power, performance, and stress tests with automation.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork under pressure.
• Assets: SCRUM, RTOS, Linux, GCP, BigQuery, SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for testing software or embedded systems.
• Write automated test scripts in Python, Java, C++, or similar.
• Define and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
• Manage test coverage for functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Work with developers and product managers to define testing strategies.
• Build and maintain test environments and tools.
